Two long winding tracks, which are mirror images of each other, each give a different perspective on the same pieces of music, both clocking in at 28:44.
Named after the French Legion of Honour, and the tracks named after the order’s motto: “Honneur et Patrie” (“Honour and Fatherland”).

I am pleased to announce, that I am officially releasing my latest long form ambient album out to the world, Atchafalaya.

I recently took a trip down to New Orleans with my fiancée, and got to experience the city in a whole new light than I have before. It was a wonderful trip, and we had an amazing time. While I was there, I brought along my travel recorder and gear, and captured sounds inside and outside of the city. On our trip we visited The Singing Oak in City Park, Jackson Square, the swamps at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, rode the streetcars down and back on St. Charles Avenue, to name a few things… but those sounds below are what make up this hour long slow and wandering journey through NOLA and surrounding environments, just as it was on “New Orleans Time”.
The name itself comes from not only one of the amazing restaurants we ate at while we were there, but also the Atchafalaya River. While we did not visit the River on the trip, it provides more of a Southern Louisiana feel to this track, because all of the sounds captured were from both inside and outside of the city.

Did you see my post about Geometric Jellyfish? Well 2 parts of the original, and a lot more are coming. Probably later in the year, as I can only release so much at one time! Just a teaser, to keep you interested. Oh, you want some more information on it? This release is definitely on the chill-out relaxation scale. An entire world of music, consisting of 7 tracks, which might be something you would listen to, or imagine you are hearing, crossing through the rings of Saturn, back on your way from your departure at Phoebe, one of Saturn’s moons. If you were Cassini… what would you hear?

I am playing around with a new track which I just posted to SoundCloud (listen below). Let me know what you think… not sure where this will go, if its a new release, or what at this point.
The name itself comes from inside the mind of my fiancee. She likes to talk in her sleep. One time she started talking about geometric jellyfish. She can definitely let out some rare gems sometimes 🙂
Being an ambient artist, I instantly recognized that as a possible album or track name in the future, and wrote it down. After composing this track, it seemed to fit the bill.

I put a video together of one of my tracks, “Measured in Kelvin – Part IV” from the album Solstice Chill to a progression and looping of photos I had taken at Ice Castles in Lincoln, NH last year, to give it some background while watching it on YouTube, rather than just looking at the album cover in the background.
I think this works better when viewing on a TV, or even on your computer… What do y’all think? Do you want some more of this? Let me know in the comments here or on the video!

You may remember this post from a few short months ago where I announced a collaboration project with my good friend and fellow SharePoint/Musician Geoff Varosky that we are calling “VR”.
Well, today I’m very happy and proud to announce to you the fruits of our collaboration in the form of the VR:1 pre-release album.
VR:1 is a work in progress album as we finalize the mix/mastering for wide release. This debut album constitutes the collective energy we both share in regards to ambient and electronic music, and is an absolute pleasure to work on.

Yes. Yes I did. Used just some of the default Windows Vista sounds one time as source material to create this experimental ambient album 10 years ago… maybe one of the only good things to come of that Operating System?
