In an effort to create more… I came up with the idea to take a month to generate some sort of ambient music each day and release it to the world. Be it a minute, be it an hour… to produce some piece of music on a daily basis for an entire month.
What would you, my few followers, think of this? Would you listen? Would you want to get the collection of this afterwards? Would you want to have this as a resource to use in your own music?
Let me know. Planning on July to start doing this… more updates to come.
This is a test of the music installation I am doing with my music for cocktail hour following the ceremony at my wedding.
See this post for more information on the setup: https://musicalnature.net/2017/04/27/new-music-installation-my-upcoming-wedding
One change I have done from that post was use a separate cheap MP3 player into the auxiliary port on the DOSS Touch portable speaker so I could better control the playlists themselves.
In the video I say the track is “The White Horse” off my album Eavesdropping, but, it is actually “Victoria”. “The White Horse” was on JUST before this video was shot… sorry for the confusion!
Please, if you feel so inclined, throw this video a like and leave a comment!
Layers ||| Compendium
Released: April 29, 2017
Bandcamp only release – the Layers Compendium. A collection of all 3 Layers albums released so far (Layers 1, Layers 2, Layers 3 : Abstractions).
Layers is a location-agnostic ambient music installation. Designed as a series to be listened to together, or really any other ambient music similar to it. How do you achieve this? Listen to one of the albums on one device at an audible volume. Then load up and listen to another one of the Layers albums on another device. Create a unique soundworld experience each and every time you listen.
Own all 3 albums in 1 for a lower price of $6!
Listen, buy and stream at the following media outlets:
All 3 albums are individually also available on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Rhapsody, eMusic, Rdio, Shazam, and many more digital media services!
The other day I finally got around to posting my latest release, Layers3: Abstractions to SoundCloud.
Layers1, Layers2, and Layers3: Abstractions are 3 minimal long form releases designed to be used either by themselves, or together, in any order. Think of it as an art installation.
Shortly after posting the release to SoundCloud, someone liked one of the tracks from Layers3, and posted the following comment:
What a brilliant idea! I recently started building some Android apps (Donation Estimator and MX Lookup), so I decided to take on this challenge as well! So, after a couple days, I have put together an Android App, which can be found in the Google Play App Store – Layers.
If you wouldn’t mind… please download it, and let me know what you think if you wouldn’t mind?
It may very well be buggy… but I am new to Android app development, so please take it easy on me.
I have some similar ideas that are kicking around along the same lines as well… so I will keep you posted here on my blog.
